Sister

I've talked about quite a few people in my blog. My roommate, my mother, my best friends, and the boy I love. But there's one very special person I haven't talked about yet. She holds a dear spot in my heart. We have the strongest bond. The kind of bond you cannot break. We came from the same mother. She's my younger sister Claire. We're four years apart so things haven't always been perfect. We used to fight a lot. I used to scare the shit out of her. That's why her nickname is Boo. I used to say "boo!" and scare her to death. So it just kind of stuck. I was super mean to her when I was young and I wish I could take it all back. Claire is turning into an amazing young woman. And it kills me to call her that because she's growing up. I feel so old. I want the best for her and I probably don't tell her that enough. It's amazing how we came from the same place, yet we're so different. We've had the same upbringing and the same opportunities, but we have completely different hobbies and interests. I played soccer all my life. We both swam, but she didn't like it as much as I did. She never stuck with sports like I did. Dance is her thing and she is really good at it. She hasn't been dancing nearly as long as all the other girls yet she has worked her ass off. Claire has improved tremendously and I love watching her do what she loves most. It kills me that I will probably miss the majority of her competitions because I'm here at school. But over the summer her dance school is going to this huge competition in Chicago and the whole family is going so that will be making up for lost time for sure. We are growing to actually like each other and I want us to have a good relationship. That's what sisterhood is about.
