It's Christmas Time, Bitch!

Boy oh boy do I love the holidays. My birthday is my favorite holiday, but then my second favorite is of course Christmas. Thanksgiving is nice too, lots of food and whatnot. But I always feel like an asshole at Thanksgiving because here I am stuffing my face with food while children in third world countries are starving to death. I also have to say the prayer even though I'm not really that religious. It makes my grandma happy so I try to be as sincere as possible. Christmas is great though. All the beautiful and colorful lights. All the tinsel and beads and ornaments on the Christmas tree. The tree in my house is huge, 8 feet tall. We still have ornaments left over that don't fit, that's how many trinkets we possess to put on our tree. Grandma needs to quit buying us new ornaments every year. I love all the cheery songs and yummy food too. I'm not much of a singer, except in the shower, but Christmas music just puts you in the mood. In my house, we have this Christmas morning tradition that I absolutely live for. When Claire and I were younger, we barely slept on Christmas eve. Seriously, there was a time when we were up at like 6am to see what Santa brought us. We were geeked about Santa's goodies. We would also set out milk and cookies for the big guy and carrots for the reindeer. Poor things had to eat healthy while Santa's fatass was munchin on sweets. In the morning, we would see what Santa brought us then my dad would put some cinnamon rolls in the oven for breakfast. Those things are amazing. Then we would open presents from each other. After presents and breakfast we get ready to go to my cousin's house in Indy for lunch and you guessed it... more presents! My uncle always makes some amazing meal for lunch that makes us all want to cry. He's an anesthesiologist oh and a closet chef. It's awesome. We usually sit around and digest for awhile then open presents. It's a pretty relaxed day spent with family. Christmas is just a great holiday. I get to see my favorite people in the entire world. And last year, on the day after Christmas my lovely and adorable niece River was born. She will be a year old soon and it is amazing how time has flown by. She's so big! And she's almost walking. She's the miracle baby and when Kim had her the day after Christmas it was just the icing on the cake. Good things always occur around Christmas time. I'm convinced it's because everyone is in a good mood and nice to each other. It's kinda silly that people can't be happy year round, but hey, I'll take it.
