Coolest Dad Ever

I spent the whole day with my dad the day before my spring break was over. I've always been close with my mom, so when it comes to my dad and our relationship, it's a little different. My dad is the jokester in the family. He can tell the corniest joke, but because I love him, it's still funny. My dad is the most interesting and genuine person I know. He's the person who pulls over to call AAA when you need a tow. He is the guy who plays in the backyard with the four year old neighbor boy when he could be doing a million other things. He has always been there to tell me that "boys are pigs" or that "girls are bitches" whenever I've been upset. He taught me how to pitch a tent and the rules to basketball. I honestly can't tell who loves IU basketball more: me or him. And I'm not daddy's little girl. No way hose. I spend more time with my mom and sometimes I really regret that. I have so much to learn from my dad and his perspective on things. The best thing about hangin with my dad is that we can just sit there and not say anything. And then other times the conversation just flows. He is always saying how proud he is of me too. I was always afraid of him when I was a kid, but my dad is like the biggest teddy bear ever. And he was so great with me when I was a baby. My mom always says how he helped out all the time. He would bath me and feed me. We built a playhouse in the backyard when I was about 7, Claire was 3. The pictures from that are so adorable. Claire and I have our play tools while my dad nails down the floor boards. And he has always been patient with us. This might sound super weird, but I hope the man I marry has a lot of the qualities my dad possesses. I've always looked up to my dad and how he treats my mom and us kids. He's the only man in the house and somehow he doesn't go crazy. I'm honestly lucky as hell to have a dad like mine.
