First week of classes!
I LOVE the first week of classes. It feels so great to start up with a new routine and meet new people. New professors and new opportunities to learn. I just really love the start of a new semester. Eventually I'll be complaining about how college is hard, but for now I'm just plain beside myself. My 8am class on Monday had 7 people. Total. I was so shocked! And my professor for that class is foreign so when he says the word "idea" is sounds like "idear" and it really makes me giggle inside. The only downside is that the class lasts an hour and 45 minutes. I mean really. What the hell was I thinking. That will be tough to get through this semester. My next class is really awesome too. It's one of my education classes; the one with field experience as part of the course. I can't wait to go to an elementary school and start working with kids. Plus, I had a connection with this black guy in my class. Hah! We were going around the room and introducing ourselves and he had said he was from Fort Wayne. So when I was up, and said I was also from Fort Wayne, he gave me the nod. And I gave him a nod back. I mean, I was black in a past life so it's only natural for me to have this happen. I'm down. I love black people. They crack me up and their music is bumpin. And it turns out that most of my Monday and Wednesday classes will be with the same people. I had a few of the same people in like all my classes. It's an education thing. But it will come in handy when we have to do group projects and studying and whatnot. Math is my last class on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It's math for elementary education majors so I have like 6 different books. Here's the best part: the books are all different colors and have kiddie pictures in them! College math for ya right there. Tuesday was even better! First off, I didn't have class until 11:15! I slept in like it was my job. Then I went to history class. I am so psyched for this class!! I hate history, but my professor is British! Her accent is awesome. It's like she popped out of a Harry Potter movie and came to teach us history. Can you say Godsend?! I will forever be listening in that class solely because of her accent. My next class starts a half hour after history and it's about twenty minutes away in another building. Oh, and of course there's no bus to take, forcing me to walk. When will I eat lunch? While I'm walking to my second class. Yea, I get to be that person. Oh joy! That class is okay. I mean the professor is super soft spoken, and it bothers me. I know that sounds horrible, but I like a professor who is confident in her knowledge. Plus I want to be able to hear what's going on. The girl that sat in front of me was from New Jersey, and she basically sounded like Sammi off the show Jersey Shore. I was dying!! Erin, one of my best friends, is from Jersey and she sounds completely normal. So now I'm on a mission to find out where in Jersey this girl is from so Erin can know. My final class is swimming!! Oh my gosh I can't wait for that. The only problem is that it starts 15 minutes after my second class. It's a ten minute walk to the pool at the Hyper building plus I have to somehow get my suit on and be in the pool on time. I get points taken away if I'm late. So I pretty much have to wear my suit under my clothes in order to be on time. Yea, I'm THAT girl. Hahaa! I love it. My life is going to be a whirlwind this semester.
