Update and New Things

I haven't written in awhile! Mostly because I really don't have much to say. Other than this: being home kinda sucks. I miss all of my btown friends SO much. And Fort Wayne is slightly boring. All I do is work, go to class (now that it has officially started), workout at the gym, and then maybe hang out with someone. Usually that someone is Andrew. Or Abby. Everyone else is too busy, or whatever. In order to keep myself from dying of boredom, I've decided to do a little self-portrait every month. I'm secretly snatching the idea from a fellow blogger, but I think it's really awesome. http://betsykingphoto.com/blog/ This is Betsy's blog and her self-portraits are way better than mine. She is a photographer, and one of my favorites for that matter so having better pictures goes without saying. But one of the things I admire about her is the fact that she really puts herself out there with the self-portrait series. Not only does she have a beautiful photo, but she also explains why she chose it. And sometimes she even opens up and allows those who follow her to really understand a piece of her life. It's courageous. And courage is one of the things I'm working on.
So here is my self-portrait for the month of June. Okay, it's not just me. But that's a little narcissistic for the very first self-portrait post. Right? I chose this picture, because in my life family comes first. Family trumps everything. And because my family is so close, I'd drop my entire life if they needed me. Honestly, without my awesome family, who would I really be? I am a part of this crazy, hilarious, laid-back family. See that ridiculous man creepin' in the back? Yes, that is my father, and I'm proud of that! As creepy as he looks in this picture, he is probably the most calming dad a girl could ask for. His words of wisdom that got me through the bullshit of middle and high school (this is, swear on everything I love, a direct quote): "Boys are pigs, and girls are bitches". HAA! Any issue I had, my father always concluded with that tid bit and it somehow related. Craziness! Ya'll know I love my mama. I've posted about her before. Same with my sister; who apparently looks like my twin to some people. I don't see it at all. Oh, I digress. Without the support and love from my family, I would not be the person I am today. I wouldn't even want to be a teacher if it weren't for their encouragement. Well, kinda. My mom keeps trying to talk me out of it, but she means well as always. Our family dynamic is unique and I appreciate that upbringing so much.
